I saw some really cool themes, but I really want my own.
I already extracted the 00000097.app and looked through the files, I also extracted those .ash files using Sharpii, but I can't seem to find the background picture of the main Wii menu, the I use Wii layout editor to view .brlyt (I think that's the extension I can't remember I'm not on a computer today)files, but I don't know how to continue.

I don't want to customize just the background picture, I will want to customize a lot of the elements like the empty channel look the wii logo and many more, but I will do that once I figured how themes work on the Wii.

I could use a Wii theme base pack but the one I found looks outdated? I think? But I just don't like the look of it, that's why I want to use the base app. I also tried the theme brlyt editor that diddy81 created, to my understanding that's just for changing colors, or maybe it has more use I don't know.

I just want to know how can I customize the Wii menu, and what tools do I have to use to see the textures so I could edit them on Photoshop or something. Thanks

P.S: You could also tell if it's not worth it, if you thinks it's too hard for me to do it. :)

I also do know that the Wii is almost 20 years old, so there could be almost no people that could help me since maybe they're retired, I do understand that, but I got this Wii from my friend(more like I stole it from him) and it's my first time using a Wii since my family don't really like consoles. So I want to try to do things that this Wii can handle (:

you ever get anyone to help?

if not let me know i can help get you started.
I haven't, actually. I'm quite busy with school at the moment, so I’ve stopped trying to make a theme. Thanks for your offer but I’ll probably start again in April or June and experiment some more. I also got a PSP, so the Wii is just sitting there.

Also, it's good to know that people are still active in Wii modding after 20 years :)
Thanks again.
