Homebrew CRC32 Verification with rominator 2008

O.K. It´s been a little while since I´ve updated my roms lists.

Starting around release 3770 I´ve d/l an unusually high amount of bad dumps; according to rominator 2008.

I´ve been using mainly two sources for a very long time now, and have very seldom had bad dumps.

Have any other of you guys had this same problem? Or maybe there´s something wrong with the way rominator verifies the CRC´s?

Just wondering because it´s going to be a major pain in the @55 to find good dumps of that many roms.

howbout trying putting those 'bad dump' files onto your flashcart and see if they run? if they do, rominator is dumb. if they don't its time to find a new source for roms :3

Good idea, but according to rominator, Up (US) #3798 is a "dirty" dump, and I´ve actually played that one through once.

I have no idea what the CRC checks are for, but I know abgx checks this for the 360 games.

I just want to know that everything is a "clean dump"!

I´m still hoping maybe something´s wrong on the rominator side, but I think I´m going to have to waste some time hunting down "clean dumps".

are your roms trimmed or untrimmed when you run the CRC32 verification? if they are trimmed, this may be the cause of the so called "bad dumps"

No. They were in thier original format.

Compressed them with rominator. It does automatically checks the CRC before compressing.

I did a recheck on a couple after the compression, and got the same answer.

I will decompress one or two, and check it then after I get back from work tonight.

Not meant to be a bump. Just want to say thanks for the responses.

Decompressed one random rom and rechecked the CRC with the same results.

*Runs off to bite into the sour apple* and waste a lot more time.
