Jeez...hell is other gamers, all right. So completely milking world wars is okay, but a game about a current event and that at least implies educational content is not done?

The comparison to hatred is uncalled for as well. By a long shot.

If you mean the one in Arizona that died from it, he was a life-long Republican and did it the day after Dr. Trump touted the ingredient found in the fish tank cleaner as a cure. (You might have to google a legitimate news source to confirm that, but it's true.) You really think a liberal would take medical advice from a blithering idiot? :rofl2:

If we could just let the clueless clown play this videogame and let a responsible adult (like the one who received 3 million more votes in 2016) do our COVID-19 response, this game would be a true lifesaver.

By the way, here's the other medical professional that believed injecting patients with bleach was a good idea. :teach:

Is it possible to play as France ?

Focusing on closing EVERY strategic factories, shutting down hospitals, cutting funds to research teams and freeing 20% of prisonners, especially notorious recidivist, cause why not.

Making masks illegal and forbid any kind of detection protocol for several months then force poor people to return to work and put their children back to school without ANY kind of protection, exactly as it was before quarantine.

Use dumb media to harass and ashame virus specialists with world wide renomee that promote cheap and well known 20 year old treatments that you anyway keep for your militaries and politics.

Never, ever use any kind of border control, and use your meager ressources to buy crowd control weaponry in the midst of the crisis, cause nobody *ucks with the homeland of human rights.

Then condemn stupid morons that dare telling me I did nothing.

Yeah, this game has potential

There is a certain amusement in seeing someone make such a claim while failing basic language skills.

Still why might that be? Is there a superior alternative presently available (presumably for free or near as does not matter)? I mean we do have several infect/protect the world type games otherwise referenced.
Do you have inside info that, or at least a decent analysis on why, this will be bad?

So I looked through the World War 1 games. I should have said except flight sims. Looking at that then in first person world we have a horror game, a 50 years on in total war, time travel with it as one of many periods, alt history where it never happened and then that leaves 3 games including Battlefield's action romp in which you don a giant armoured suit and take out a trench of people with a minigun.
Did see a few things to look at, even if one is a unity game, and some strategy stuff that might be worth a look.

Seems I missed a few Vietnam games as well. I played a few but for what could actually be quite a good setting (weapons were recognisable by today's standards, tactics too, leaves are hard to render but not impossible) we never seem have explored it in any great depth.

I doubt anybody could convincingly argue that there are not a lot of world war 2 efforts, though I suppose the glut of them back in the day also means we rather lack them today, and even back then it was noted so very few did any kind of pacific theatre, Burma being right out, China hahahahaha, North Africa had a few (usually strategy) but for how pivotal it was for a lot of things then not so much, Italy rather lacks and that leaves Russia (which is as good as any Czech is going to get as well) and Northern France with the line between (maybe Battle of Britain for a flight sim or two). My issue though was if you are going to use a phrase along the lines of all the then probably need a very large asterisk.

Do people not explore concepts, thoughts and feelings through entertainment? The idea that art and entertainment is only to be a screensaver for the mind would surely be rebuffed by just about any that engage in its creation and use.

That said I have never quite bought the idea of too soon even then. I might make the slimmest possible exception for say some advertising such that someone quite reasonably going about their day can not avoid it (and that would take some serious doing even then), but for something you can choose to engage with then all bets are off.

The whole point of a video game is whatever the makers want it to be. For that line of reason documentaries and educative TV programs would be pointless. Being interactive and gamified is just changing the means to achieve that goal.

Also, if you want the real source you wouldn't have textbooks at school for the most part, you'd be reading scientific papers and old newspaper articles.

Look dude, if you think it's cool to turn a tragedy into entertainment while the tragedy itself is still happening, you're free to feel that way, just as I'm free to feel the way that I do. I think it's disgusting, simple as that. Hey, look at all those people dying of this terrible thing, how can we make a quick buck out of that while entertaining those that are still alive? That's just gross to me no matter how you spin it.

If it genuinely is for education and all profits go toward charities and foundations for those in need right now. Then, I'm all for it. If however, they're using the tragedy to create a product meant to be sold for entertainment purposes while they line their pockets with the profits, then I find that to be in very poor taste.

I can't get to it being simple. If people feel so strongly about something I do try to understand why, especially when I can't get there in the first place.

I don't see how this might be in any way insensitive, denigrating to the sufferers of the tragedy as you term it or otherwise troubling on such a front.

People have looked to stories, narratives, entertainment and more for thousands of years to understand things. This seems well in line with that.

Well I'm not gonna try and make you see my way. You're free to see your way, I personally don't agree with it, but you do you. I just think it's in poor taste no matter how you slice it, and you've done little to sway me otherwise, but that's ok, I know I've done little to sway you too. We just have our own set of ethics we adhere to with stuff like this, and in this case they're just not aligned.

Let's italic a bit of this post...
And yet here you are still complaining to him about his views...
Clearly you both have different opinions. One of those opinions - this game is not for you of course. And that's about all there is to it really! Don't buy it! Do you HAVE to have your say about it all the time?? (Social media really gets on my tits for this...)

My personal opinion: I'm sick of all this forced doom and gloom on the subject! WTF is wrong with us all?! Facebook?? Fukk me it's toxic there at the best of times but these days, my God... I've had a neighbour die and currently an uncle in hospital due to it, but to walk round 1 step away from slitting my wrists, nah.. that's not the way to go about things ...or indeed combat the virus, its medically proven if you're in a better physical AND mental state of mind you're better equipped to deal with any illness - not a guarantee of course, but it's better than feeling negative all the time!
Still, I'd say this is a good couple of months too early as well. Europe SEEMS (don't quote me!) to be over the worst, or at least the peak, but I'm not so sure about the US, and Christ knows what'll happen if it hits the poorest countries of Africa as hard... This time next year, when hopefully it's all just a bad memory, get the game released then. Then we can all say 'Oh you guys....!' and all that. Though I do suspect we'd still get a few pansies posting 'That's just gross to me' etc etc...
