Just be patient, rome wasn't build in one day ....... and if you are in a hurry, go for it and write code. Have some respect for people who use their own free time for the community.

DK C'mon man don't drop the project for one asshole, have you seen the number of people who have posted on this tread that where happy and excited about this project, everyone appreciates your work, that shit head is a sick son of a bitch that has nothing better on his life that roaming around forums and throwing shit at other people, DK seriously we appreciate your effort.

...

@Don K : if you stop this project right now, it's obvious you will have lost time for nothing ... So, keep going a bit, cause lot of people are waiting for you loader, i'm one of them

This was a pretty good idea until it fell into the standard 'oh man you should like, code me up a monkey, so it like, does my dishes and does 'em good, while dancing and playing the harmonica" seriously.... if you're looking for coverflowesque buy a Mac not a Wii, you want coverfloqesque go listen to your Jonas Brothers album on iTunes, if you don't like the layout, move on and find another, make your own. Let the coders do their thing and if they want to keep it simple, they keep it simple. It's their project. Be glad you are privileged enough that these two just didn't keep this amongst themselves for personal use. Criticism can be constructive, feedback was wanted, but be reasonable, sensible and please.....please for the love of god grow a small, measly, tiny morsel of common sense before you hit 'Add Reply'.

Functionality trumps Visualization.

Keep doing what you're doing Don and cdream it's looking great.

On a side note here is my contribution to the theming. I was looking for something similar to the Wii System Menu, but at the same time didn't want to feel like I was playing ScummVM. Eliminated a lot of the text due to well...common sense. Made the bars a tad thicker. Thinking of ditching the gradient, but didn't want to tackle it at the moment. Might try with a white on blue look rather than the grey. *UPDATED* changed the font color/shadow on B button, ditched gradient.

One suggestion I do have though is on the settings screen eliminating the controller picture all together and show the coverart of the current game selected when you hit B. That is if you have per game saved settings.

Hey DK... you gotta stay in man.... if you let that guy get to you he wins... this is NOT amiga.... Its NOT 1995... you rock at what you do... in the scene... out of the scene.... what ever... he can take his commodore 64 and shove it up his ass... Dragtom... might u be on another project and a little afraid someone blows your stuff to shit??? my mother always used to say "If you don't have anything nice to say then SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

you see DK there are 5 people on this page alone who appreciate what you are doing and yet you are concentrating on one person alone, C'mon!!

Don, I really apreciate your work ! Don't give up ! Please...
You are doing an excelent job and who does not like, that make better !
Stay with us !

With a bit of customization thanks to the 3d covers courtesy of NeoRame found here I was able to recreate the below on my Wii using this loader

It took minor editing, but I got the covers to load perfectly both big and small. I just made automated Photoshop batch scripts to adjust all the files in one go, filling the transparency with a white layer and adjusting the sizes to match this loader.

Friend,

Could you share the modificated files ? I also tried to use these covers but the transparency did not show, I ot a black box around the cover... also you modificated the background, didn't you ?? please....

Don,

I or when possible, could you implement the following:
1) remember the last game started and focus on it at start

I am using a forwarder channel with it, and it is working perfectly...

thanks !

I only converted the 30 some odd games I do have. If you want to wait till tomorrow I can push out the whole package converted for this loader from NeoRame for you to use. I posted the main and config pngs above in an earlier post as well.

Got it to work. Made mogrify to modify the background and it worked perfectly !
But it is a little slow to change from game to game. Maybe the images quality are too much, tomorrow I'll try to mae then less perfect to see what happens.

Hey, do you have the excitebots 3D cover ???

Thanks anyway !!!

My images load fine as you can see in the youtube vid I posted. I kind of like the slower transition it gives it a fade in and out feel.

I go to bed and 8 hours later there are 3 pages of chaos.

I could tell from DragToms first posts he was trying to stir shit, but he's really done it this time. Like Don Killah, I'm a 30+ year old man and I don't need some gimp coming into the thread I started telling me my work is shit or DK for that matter. If it's so rubbish then piss off, it's simple really.

Now a little background about myself. I have run 2 companies in the past, one was a video game importer back in 2001, www.gamesimporter.com, where I would sell import games from Japan and the USA, and the second was a coffee house, where I managed marketing for live events and gigs in the basement bar.

Several years ago prior to both those, I did an Art & Design course at college but I later went into acting. I have always been more a visual based person and quite hands on.

I have a brother that for the last 15 years has worked with various video games companies as an animator and artist. He's now working at Rockstar North as a Level Designer, so even with him, whom I am closest to in my family, I have been around games and the visual side for many years.

So for me when I think I have an idea of what people want visually, I would say it's pretty accurate. I understand people also want to tinker and fiddle with settings and so that was the whole idea behind the Settings page. Having that clown DragTom come in here telling me it's shit what I've done, well you know what, whatever you halfwit, why not do as Don said and put your money where your mouth is, or do as DJJ said, don't ay anything at all.

I might not be a coder, but I am working my ass off to get templates done with right dimensions and different icons ect for future revisions so people can use it all to make whatever they want, it just saves them a lot of laborious work. I have never seen myself and I never wanted it to come across as such that I am demanding or trying to control anything. I gave my ideas and saw if DK could do them, he tells me if he can or not and I move on. He tells me what he's thinking of doing and I try to make something graphically to fit in with it. So as far as I am concerned it's always been a mutual relationship.

Anyhoo, Don Killah I hope you can ignore all this negativity from the people who are doing it and we can get back to work together. If people have skills in photoshop or whatever or are good coders who want to contribute, I and I'm sure Don are 100% open to you helping out. Either PM one of us or leave constructive ideas on the thread, if you only intend to bitch and whine, piss off to the rant thread that was created, it's probably more suited to you.

@ Don Killah: Please don't drop out of this project because of one person's negativity. The loader is very nice to use already and has great potential.

@ Cdreams: (in my opinion) You should stop explaining yourself, it keeps bringing up the problems between you and AB, which makes him post again, which makes you respond and causes people to ask questions etc. This way you guys keep going in circles and it keeps derailing the thread. I think that is time and energy that could be used in a better way...

You guys (Don Killah and cdreams) are the ones making this loader, and you decide which way you want this project to go. Suggestions are great, of course, but if someone wants it to be something completely different they should make it themselves (especially if they are such brilliant coders). Don't forget: there are also a lot of people who really appreciate what you guys are doing!

What I would like to see in this loader is: widescreen support and maybe a replacement for the console. I think the console font is ugly and it would be nice to have support for full game titles. Still: these are just suggestions. I just hope you guys still have (or can find) some fun working on this loader. Don't let a few ***** ruin this for you (and everyone else).

I'll let you all know where I am on this.

I am completely 100% happy to carry on here and continue making the backgrounds and templates that I have almost finished now.

I am 100% happy working with DK and I'm totally grateful that he wanted to work with me to get this loader to where it is and hopefully where it will get to with a little more time.

@katrem
Your totally right and my girlfriend pointed out the same thing, so it's been noted and I agree
