My bud's 2ds happened to be at a really low version and easy to put cfw onto. I decided to get a New 2ds XL and plan on doing the following


System transfer onto my 2ds

Lower my 2ds' version to 11.3

Transfer systems again

Hack my 2ds

Will it work?

You can't downgrade.
But you can put CFW on your O2DS, do system transfer (and transfer hack) to N2DSXL.

He can cfw, then do backup, do system transfer and then reload his backup. this way he won't lose anything.

Why the enormous letters? Why would system transfer remove CFW? It doesn't delete your SysNAND, just transfers tickets and titles, without affecting the firmware, so you only lose the PAID games.

No, why would it? How do you think DSiWare transfer works if CFW just left the console? CFW is only removed MANUALLY.
