Hacking Corrupted hard drive?!

I was trying to make dios mios 2.10 to work with my external hard drive ( I was copying files from one partition to another, changing partions to logical or primary, now i dont know how or why but all my wii isos and files in one partition are gone and a bunch of files of around 150 kb with names !, ",#,$,%,..., a,b,c,...,!a,!b,!c, etc. (not exactly this names but the names appear to be the entire code ansii) appeared instead. nod32 detects no virus and disk error checking froze also win7 says the disk still has the same amount of free Gb .
what the hell just happened? Are my isos recoverable in anyway? or will i have to rip them again? is my hdd dying? or maybe partiton magic made a mistake?

I used partition recovery but it only found the isos (some not all) i added to that hdd partition after changing from wbfs to fat... maybe that was part of the problem? anyways I formatted and its working again.
