Man, I was hoping to do the same as my buddy has had his since launch. So which channels are allowed to be transferred from one Wii to another?

none.
The data is encrypted with the console number used to buy/download the channel.
you cannot use them on another Wii, nor even on the same wii after formating (because there's a new Wii friend's code generated)

Why can I copy it to my SD card, then?
I think it's to make some space on the Wii memory and put them back later without the need to download them again.

We need Firefox for Wii. Opera was pretty meh when I had it, not good enough for me to buy and I'm hoping for some decent homebrew browsers soon.

There needs to be some competition for Opera then they will try to improve it, running a lot of sites on it are painful.

It'd be cool if you could just open the internet channel while you're in a game; that would solve a lot of problems (chatroom open in one browser window for matchmaking, gamefaqs if you're doing some scavenger hunt in a solo game, youporn for a quick fap to relax before an intensive boss...

No channels or virtual console games can be copied to another system as they are encrypted with your console's number. So far, there has been no way to get around this protection.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
