Converting Wii VC save to Wii U VC

I have the data.bin, where do I go from here to make it work for wii u vc paper mario 64?

Any ideas? I was thinking I could use a fresh save from the wii u vc and then somehow replace the save part with my wii vc save

that won't work. the data.bin is encrypted. you could try decrypting it with save manager gx, then see if the saves are compatible. I think the wiiu is Big Endian, but I don't know what the wii is. if it's also Big Endian, it should be pretty simple.

I have a save manager gx copy of the save too, also what is endian?

Big Endian follows the normal bytes 00, 01, 02 while little endian does it in reverse 02, 01, 00. if they're byte reversed (little endian), the save won't be compatible.

Ok. I am making a fresh paper mario wii u vc save and then i will copy it to my pc. Should I give you the saves after that?

I need a paper mario save from the wiiu vc as well, just to see if they're compatible, at least by looking at them.

use savemii mod to get the wiiu save, I had forgotten about that.

ok uploading now, the saves appear to be the same size

I think they're compatible. I hex copied and wrote from to the other. they're exactly the same size, the beginning is the same, so it should work:

Thanks for that, I will test it in a bit. BUT! I got it working just by renaming my save and replacing savemii's file. Thats what the guide said . Thanks for your help!

yeah, I figured you could do that, but I hex copied anyway. remember whenever you transfer a save to the wiiu that you delete the save state or just power off the system while in the game or else it will load the state overwriting the new save.

yeah, but I admire them for sticking with it for five years. sony abandoned the vita in like a year, because it wasn't an instant success.
