Hi there,

I was just wondering if there is a way to convert ScummVM Save-files from one version to another?
I played some hours of MI on DS and now succeded in using ScummVM on my Wii.

I would be great to be able to interchange the save files (or even use the same files) on both version.

Any clues?
What part of Scumm would I have to work on? (as it's open source, maybe I could develop some kind of converting tool)

Why would you need to convert them? Shouldn't they be the same regardless of which platform they are runnning on? After all, they are ported from the same source.

in a perfect world....yes

because they are different...
believe me, I checked it ;-)
Even different builds of the same version (for instance one step on the DS version -happened to me once- screwed up some of my saves...) [Backups FTW]

long story short: you haven't tried it yet, right?

Ah okay, the nds version doesn't support Gzip compressed saves, other than that they should be the same.

Try renaming a wii created save as *.s01.gz and then uncompressing it. Winrar etc should recognise it.

If you want me to create a small converter for those saves, send me two saves of both version

damn...simply using gzip did not work...gonna collect the different savegames an send the to shuny ;-)
Where could I dl the source for that kind of changes?
