Hi! Was wondering if there was some sort of adapter that could allow a controller to be used on the Wii that is registered as a wii remote. I know there are such devices, but they always convert the controllers to a classic or gamecube controller and not a wii remote. Is there some sort of software or device that can do such a thing?

Yes, but a controller plugged into that is registered as a classic controller and not a wii remote. I need one that will have the controller be registered as a wii remote

Is there something wrong with Wiimotes that you have a need to emulate one on an actual Wii???

    Am i missing something here????

Trust me, I know the feel. Wiimotes get annoying if your battery cover comes loose. You're basically screwed if there's motion controls. Not to mention, Nunchuks are also a pain.

Exactly. Plus for games without heavy motion control, id like to play them with something a little more comfortable. Some games that should offer classic controller support just dont have it so playing with something thats not a wii remote would be nice. Plus its certainly possible for things to register as a wii remote. For example, this controller (https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Wirele...513927?hash=item1cfdc33887:g:RzgAAOSwwT9f9evR) has the ability to switch between a classic controller and wii remote. I feel like there has to be other devices out there that let you do this. This controller sucks though so :(

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but no such thing exists. You cannot emulate gyro and pointer functions on real hardware. No such homebrew exists.

What you are basically asking for is to put your Wii in a cupboard and use Dolphin Emulator instead as that can be used with any pc connected controller such as an XBox 360 controller which is basically what the above ebay link is alluring to. Pointer and gyro functions can be remapped to other buttons/mouse ect. Motion plus is another entity entirely.

You can also use Wii injects on Wii U and use the Gamepad as a controller (or classic or Gamecube) however not all games support this (NSMBW for one) and a few others may require a sync trick to to make the game think you have the wiimote in sideways position rather than vertical.

Some games as you have already mentioned do not allow classic controller as an option so your gripe is with the developers of said games but the wii u inject or Dolphin options are the only two work arounds for your problem.

No, it doesn't. Read the box. It works with android Wii games.... ie.... Dolphin Emulator.

At 6:50 in the video they literally use the controller as a wii remote.

Well I stand 'slightly' corrected! Lol its a classic controller redesigned!

The video also says it's basically a pointer device and as i said earlier, it cannot remap the buttons required to be used properly even on a Wii U so I am correct... It cannot be done and your back to either Dolphin Emulator or injects on Wii U if you do not want to use a wiimote and nunchuck.

That would work as a classic controller on wii injects but I'd avoid all 3rd party ones as they are notoriously crap.... That video even agrees!

If you have a Wii U you could try HID to VPAD which allows other wireless pads to be used with a separate adapter for controlling Wii games but again, no gyro or pointer functionality is available.

So with this HID to VPAD thing, I would be able to use, say, a switch pro controller on NSMBWII but without gyro?

I believe so but I've never used it myself. The best guys to speak to would be in that thread.... They could actually answer your queries better than me to be honest!

    https://gbatemp.net/threads/hid-to-vpad.424127/

Bear in mind you would also need the Mayflash Bluetooth adapter also.

No, HID-to-Vpad is Wii U homebrew. It lets you use other controllers in Wii U games. If you load a Wii game, whether from the vWii menu or a Virtual Console title or inject from the Wii U menu, the console restarts in Wii mode and unloads any Wii U homebrew.

The Wiimote is significantly different from most other controllers - getting an absolute position in space from the IR sensors as well as the gyroscopes and accelerometers that some other controllers have. It would be very difficult for another controller to send the data the Wii expects. That's why the best option is the Retro Classic Controller Pro U I and others have suggested, even if it's not great - it has the IR camera and is designed for the Wii. Classic Controllers are easier to impersonate as they have the same type of inputs all the other controllers have (e.g. ).
