It's all part of the new Teammate Control system, which allows you to move teammates at the same time as the player in possession.
And it seems fairly straightforward. Simply press the right analogue stick towards the player you wish to control, and if you click R3, you'll take control of them. If you let go of R3 at any point, the player will revert to AI.
An 'assisted mode' is available, which has players without the ball make more effective runs, while a 'manual mode' allows complete control over the movement of other players.
European PES team leader Jon Murphy said that "The addition of Teammate Control is something we have been working on for a while now, and we are delighted that it will make its debut in PES 2012.
"We have been building to create a control system that truly lets the player do whatever they like on field, and the ability to manually control a second player while simultaneously running with the ball opens all kinds of attacking options.
"This is the start of a major new era for PES," he promised.[/p]
Sounds difficult, but if it's easy to use, it may turn out great
