Hacking Configureable usb laoder

There seem to be a lot of paths for this.
sd:/apps/usbloader/boot.dol
sd:/apps/usbloader_cfg/boot.dol
sd:/apps/usbloader/boot.elf
sd:/apps/usbloader_cfg/boot.elf
usb:/apps/usbloader/boot.dol
usb:/apps/usbloader_cfg/boot.dol
usb:/apps/usbloader/boot.elf
usb:/apps/usbloader_cfg/boot.elf

Lets say I want to configuration files to be on my sd card. Shouldn't it be
sd:/apps/usbloader/boot.dol only? Do I need to have the cfg/boot.dol too?

For the SD card. why are there 4 possibilities. At maximum shouldn't there be only two, such as
Usbloader and Usbloader _cfg?

And what is the difference between boot.dol and boot.elf?

Do I need all four paths to my sd?
Do I need only two paths to my SD? ( usbloader and usbloader_cfg)
Do I need only one path to my SD? (usbloader/boot.dol)
