I asked this earlier in the thread and it went unanswered, then posted it in the Hacking forum which is apparently the wrong forum.

I have CIOS222 v4 installed along with rev14, trying to load an NTFS partition with Configurable USB Loader FAT edition. On boot, it gives me a -1 error saying I don't have 222 installed. Any tips?

Would switching the partition to FAT fix it? And which is better in the long run, even after I get it working? I don't want to have to go back to WBFS since I need to use this hard drive for backup store for my PC until I can upgrade my PC's hard drive.
My guess is that you either upgraded after installing IOS222 (which would have stubbed it) or didn't install it correctly in the first place. Follow the steps from the following two tutorials (seeing as upgrading to IOS249 rev 15 would be a good idea for you):

http://gwht.wikidot.com/ios249
http://gwht.wikidot.com/hermes-ios222-223

If you want proof whether it's installed correctly, load up Dop-IOS Mod or AnyTitle Deleter Mod and check the version number of your IOS222. It should be 4 if installed correctly.

I hate to ask this, but is it really... safe... to upgrade to rev 15? I've heard so many horror stories of things not working right with it, and even worse with rev 16. At least with the reading I've done on this site, that's the conclusion I've come to.

The horror stories of rev 15 have to deal with WiiPower and NeoGamma, mostly. It always worked fine with Cfg and is definitely the best choice. Rev 16 is another matter with the reintroduction of the dual layer bug amongst other problems.

I followed both of those guides and it boots up now, but Configurable USB Loader doesn't see any of my games. I selected NTFS1 as the partition and it says I have 0.00 gigs free and I don't have any games. I have three ISOs in the root of the hard drive and I have about 150gb free, any clue why it's doing that?

the .iso or .wbfs had to be in a folder named wbfs in the root, so usb:\wbfs\iso.iso
that should pop em up

I just tried that after searching. Still nothing, though.

Everytime I start Configurable USB Loader, it says no WBFS partition found. I choose the NTFS1 partition and it shows 0/1 on the box art browser, and no games found on the game list.

You can get it to default to the NTFS partition by using "partition=ntfs1" in config.txt. As for getting your games working, they also have to be named correctly. Look at README-CFG.txt to find out how you should be naming these files.

Whoops, the Game ID is what I missed. Thanks.

One last question. Is it possible to put in a Wii disc and install it to NTFS? When I try it says I have 0.00GB free and not enough space to install to NTFS, I want to know if it's just me.

Nope. NTFS partitions are currently read-only. You can only install games to WBFS and FAT32 partitions at the current time.

A workaround to this would be using something like FTPii to download the disc wirelessly to your computer, then using wbfs_file to put it onto the NTFS drive.

Has anyone gotten any version of metroid prime trilogy to work with this loader without using alt-dol? I have received a DVD5 of trilogy with #3 stripped from a popular T-site, and users there report that it works for them. But no matter what settings I use it always flashes green when I select the game then drops back to system menu.

Try using IOS222 as the default IOS, if you haven't done so already. Just install it via the tutorial and add "ios=222-mload" to config.txt.

I used GAF's tutorial to install Configurable USB Loader. So I'm now on IOS249.
If I use ios=222-mload the loader just crashes.

Haven't got to much time today. Probably tomorrow I will document my problems.
Thanks for trying though

There is a different page within the tutorial for installing IOS222: http://gwht.wikidot.com/Hermes-IOS222-223

This does not install over IOS249, it is just another choice of IOS to use, so don't fear that installing it will do anything to IOS249, as it won't.

wbfs_file 2.7
wbfs_file_2.7.zip
(included sources and binaries for windows, linux and macosx)
Changes:

v2.7:

* Linux and MacOSX changes

v2.7-beta:

* New command: wbfs_copy will copy a game directly from one wbfs
partition to the other
* New command: iso_info will print out some info about a wii disc
* All commands that expect a ISO as source now also accept a device
so that a DVD drive can be used directly
* Commands writing to WBFS partition or file can now be aborted
by sending ABORT to standard input

Is there an application that will automatically change wbfs titles to their correct name if when created they dont have the right name?

Example
RKME5D_Armageddon -> RKME5D_Mortal_Kombat_Armageddon

Well how far do you get to go before an ending? I loaded mine up for a moment and was able to go to the save select/new game screen.

A problem that I just noticed is that while there's absolutely nothing wrong with my DVD Drive (ie.. DISC games load perfectly fine using NeoGamma), when I try to load backups using the traditional method (disc channel), it fails to detect, load, or preview whatever disc is in the drive. I am running WIIKEY v1 under the hood.

Now I recently did a bunch of changes to my wii all at the same time so here's a list of what I did. Hopefully someone can help me narrow down or knows whats happening to my wii:

1)Installed Configurable USB Loader
2)As part of Conifgurable USB loader I installed Hermes 222 and 223
3)Installed USB Loader Channel Forwarder WAD
4)Installed NeoGamma WAD

Many thanks in advance. And props to Oggzee!

So I'm at the mount hard drive screen. At the top it says FAT32 mount: SD.

So whenever I try to mount it, it doesn't seem to recognize my hard drive which is formatted to NTFS. Does this mean that my hard drive isn't recognized? Or did I do something wrong?

I even added partition=ntfs1 to the config.txt

I've got a question. I've read that channelforwarding could be dangerous, is there a good tutorial on it, explaining the dangers?
Or can anyone here explain it to me?
