The banner sounds feature is really neat (the clock is a nice touch too). Thanks a lot for the neat new stuff Oggzee. Every time Config USB Loader doesn't seem like it can get better, it somehow does.

Should we list games where the sounds don't work? As a reference or something? It's pretty much not a big deal, I was just wondering.

No. oggzee knows precisely why those ones don't work already. There are three types of sound file and he only implemented one of them so far. The others will come later.

Hi zektor,I tried installing the Wad you uploaded via Wad manger 1.5. Installed ok but came to a black screen when started the channel. I wonder what could have gone wrong? Narolez forwarder as posted on the first page did work when installed though.

It could be a faulty hard drive or cable, but try IOS222 as your boot IOS first. Just set IOS=222-mload in your config.txt and see if that aids recognition. If you have a USB flash drive, you can likely test whether the problem is the drive or the SD card for sure by trying to see if you can get it to work with that.

So, I tried out a USB flash drive today and it worked. However, it didn't exactly work the first time. It booted and formatted the flash drive normally. However, when I tried to play a game, it seemed to hang at the message "Booting Wii game. Please wait". After some time, I got an error "ret = -2", I believe. The Wii cursor took a strange shape... I restarted cfg and now it all works perfectly.
Now, I'm happy it works, so I'm not going to whine or anything. But I'm just curious now. Why didn't the game boot the first time? And how did the cursor suddenly got so weird?
Also, is there any way to transfer my Wii games from my HDD to a real external USB HDD? Or do I really have to install all those games again?

music=1 is fine as long as you have a file at sd:/usb-loader/music.mp3.

For those using the default option, any .mp3 or .mod file in sd:/usb-loader (i.e., your base directory (see global options screen)) will do.

I did an online update to v44b3, I have music=1 in my config file and I have an mp3 in my usb>usb-loader folder.

The mp3 will play as background music when the GUI is up, but then I click A to launch a game it goes to the console screen that shows the game loading and the music cuts out, but I still have no banner sounds.

I did not test it. I grabbed it from Narolez's post a few pages back in which he asked people to test. Perhaps it does not work...

You were right. I turned of Confirm start and the banner sounds are there now.
Kinds of sucks. I liked not having to hit A a second time.
I'll see which I like better.

You know, after you had posted that the new forwarder did not work, I removed the link. But,. then I tested it here and it indeed DOES work. It is a forwarder, so please make sure you have the necessary files on USB or SD. This is the LATEST forwarding code (with passing arguments), injected into Narolez's original forwarder channel. This is the forwarder that should be used and added to the main post:
