Actually, what I really want is the ability to toggle the cheat option on the fly for games that has the game options saved.
As of right now that is not possible without reset all the saved options to default, therefore not having the settings grey out so I can make that one change without effecting the rest of the settings.
yes yes it's on the todo...

Quick question:

I noticed that running "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" using cIOS222 v4, the game asks for the metroid disc (like it did in previous Waninkoko cIOSes). Of course popping in any disc fixes the situation.

But, I tested the same game with the same cIOS in Hermes Uloader 3.0, and it does not ask for a disc. So, somehow, the loader is offering the bypass disc feature.

I was under the assumption that this was entirely controlled by the cIOS, but I am obviously wrong. Can it be looked in to?

BTW, if anyone is having issues in coverflow mode where the screen is messed up but the text and pointer are fine it's because PAL 576i is currently broken. Sorry, I'm NTSC so I couldn't test it.

So in the mean time, you can switch to 480p (if that's an option) or 480i and that should work - or run the previous alpha v42 and wait for the fix.

If your screen is messed up and you're NOT on PAL 576i please let me know asap!

I'm guessing becuase Uloader dosen't have to option to block iso reload so it does it automatically configurable basically gives you the option to configure everything before you load the game.

Well, Uloader has the option to turn on and off IOS reload, but I didn't have that option set when I tested it there.

It does I haven't seen it yet and I'm using the latest Uloader which one are you using.

Were talking about Uloader 3.0 right the one that comes with vIOS22 v4 since I just tried it and I didn't see it.

Actually, I have always been suffering from this issue. A more general request is, the moment when a saved option is unlock, the setting should not be reset to the default setting immediately but stay unchanged. A "reset to default" option can be introduced at the bottom of the menu.

P.S. Please also fix the "graphic noise" while moving among the options in the option menu.

What graphic noise? Could you take a picture or expain (in detail) what it looks like and when it happens?

Just out of curiousity, where has Nintendo given anyone permission to access their servers through a PC?

Not sure of the legal ramifications on that one, but I believe that if they don't have a disclaimer saying not to and it is directly accessible via the Internet, then there is no issue.
Not to dwell on this, but since every time someone links to a wad or anything else "Nintendo", the "that's illegal" informers come out of the woodwork, I think it's only right that this be examined as well. Seems only fair, no?

So, having said that, I have to disagree with your assumption. Simply because you can access something does not mean you have been given permission to do so, and in the U.S. many states have criminal laws prohibiting such access, even to unencrypted Wi-Fi networks without explicit, not implied, permission. Indeed, there have been several arrests for just that, i.e. knowingly using a store's Wi-Fi network (unsecured) intended for customers, from outside the store, without explicit permission to do so.

BTW, what is this so-called 'certs.sys' file that NUSD apparently needs and gets from somewhere (the NUSD notes say it comes directly from Nintendo, but i.i.com.com isn't exactly 'Nintendo') and why can't it be included with NUSD. Because, per the author of NUSD, it's Nintendo property, right? Were the first versions of NUSD which included this hardcoded into the program beaten down with the "that's illegal" stick too?

I think we need to flip your argument around and unless there is a page I can go to, from Nintendo, that gives permission to download anything I want from their update servers, then doing so could possibly be considered illegal. I don't think they need to post 'no trespassing' or 'private property' signs in the virtual world, but I could be wrong.

I wonder what Nintendo would reply with if they were directly asked about all of this? I think I already know...

For some reason the command line for switching the B and 1 buttons isn't working. I'm using 42beta and have "buttons = options_B" in the config file.

I've experienced this problem too, but on a much older version of the loader. I don't think I've ever had the option work for me, although I haven't tried it in ages. Does it work in older versions for you?

In the option menu, when moving down the highlight cursor, several lines of words are flashing, unpleasantly.

However, I found this only happens in 42b.

Ah no need to do the legal analysis about this, it's simple, the site owners prefer to stay on the safe side and so they do not allow linking to any packages containing nintendo code. So, you have to figure it out how to get the code and download it yourself, basically shifting the risk and responsibilities to you, the individual rather than on the site owners.

I assume you think nintendo would answer that is not legal, but actually what nintendo would reply is: nothing. They seem to prefer not to comment and publicly acknowledge the existence of homebrew and all the work-around needed to get it on the machine, but they do try to block it behind the curtain. afaik TeamT. has tried to contact them many times without getting any response.
