Question. I have been using USB loaders for only about the past 2-3 weeks. I have tried 3 of them with this one being the best and this forum having the best help. I installed Cios rev 10 back when I ran my first loader. I have tried to research what new revision is the best with people happy and also having issues with rev 12, 13a, & 13b. I don't want to fill up this topic, but if someone has some comments on this and could give some input I would appreciate it. Send me a private message. Thanks
Forget the PM, other people need to know this. Just use 13 (aka 13a). The only problem is you will need to reset the console between games which takes about two more seconds than going to the Wii Menu. For that you get spindown fixes and the proper 002 method so you never have to use the anti-002 fix rubbish.

Whenever I use Configurable USB Loader, I always have to plug in my USB key during the countdown for it to work. using uLoader, I can just leave it plugged in. I heard the ehci module fixes this in config34, but putting the ehci.elf in the apps folder with boot.dol didnt do anything. Where do I edit the config.txt to fix this problem? Thanks! I have all the cIOS's installed, including 222, and 223 36+37. I really like Configurable USB Loader better ,and I want to use it without getting up lol

thanks!

what will probably help you is adding this to your config.txt:

ios = 222-mload

cfg v34 (release)

http://sharebee.com/f09619b5

Changes:
Code:
Changes since 34 beta:

* Changed default URLS to sites:
ÂÂ 1. wiicover.gateflorida.com
ÂÂ 2. boxart.rowdyruff.net

* Retry downloading from all available servers if cover not found

* Multiple URLS can be specified for cover_url_* options
ÂÂ They can be in the same line separated with space, example:
ÂÂ cover_url = http://site1.com/{$ID}.png http://site2.org/{$ID}.png
ÂÂ Or in multiple lines using =+ to add instead of =, example:
ÂÂ cover_url = http://site1.com/{$ID}.png
ÂÂ cover_url =+ http://site2.org/{$ID}.png
ÂÂ cover_url =+ http://site3.net/{$ID}.png

* Added another URL tag: {ID} which will try automatically to
ÂÂ find the correct ID by trying ID6, ID4 and ID3

* Download all cover styles at the same time: 2d, 3d and disc

* option: download_id_len = [4], 6
ÂÂ Specifies the downloaded cover ID length for the saved file name

* Print info when loading external ehcmodule

Changes since 33 release:

* Changed the way cover_url options work:
- cover_url* are now global instead of theme options.
- Added per cover style url options:
ÂÂ cover_url - standard (2d) covers
ÂÂ cover_url_3d - 3d covers
ÂÂ cover_url_disc - disc covers
- Note: These options still work and do the same:
ÂÂ cover_url_norm, cover_url_3d_norm, cover_url_disc_norm
- Downloading covers in widescreen mode will no longer download resized
ÂÂ widescreen covers, instead full covers are downloaded and then resized
ÂÂ when they are being displayed. In other words, cover_url_*_norm is used
ÂÂ always instead of cover_url_*_wide in widescreen mode.
ÂÂ To revert this to previous behaviour, use the option:
ÂÂ download_wide = [0], 1 Which will use cover_url_*_wide options in widescreen mode:
ÂÂ cover_url_wide
ÂÂ cover_url_3d_wide
ÂÂ cover_url_disc_wide
- Note: ID_wide.png covers are still used if found in widescreen mode.
ÂÂ If not found then ID.png is used, same as before.

* Changed cover_style to not change the cover_url values as was before
ÂÂ but just selectes the proper url from one of the specified options.

* Console mode game list improvements:
ÂÂ - Added '+' indicators if there are more games in up or down directions.
ÂÂ - Added page indicator
ÂÂ
* Use bg_gui_wide.png for widescreen gui background.
ÂÂ If not found bg_gui.png is used instead.

* Themable gui resources: favorite.png, pointer.png, hourglass.png, font.png
ÂÂ See inSDRoot/usb-loader/resources for example files:
ÂÂ - favorite0.png - turns off the favorite star
ÂÂ - favorite32.png - half sized favorite star
ÂÂ - favorite64.png - full sized favorite star
ÂÂ Copy one of the above to sd:/usb-loader/favorite.png to change the favorite star.
ÂÂ
* option: start_favorites = [0], 1
ÂÂ Start with the favorites game list

* Ocarina codes are now searched in the following directories:
ÂÂ 1. sd:/usb-loader/codes/
ÂÂ 2. sd:/data/gecko/codes/
ÂÂ 3. sd:/codes/

* Updated ehcmodule to uloader 2.3 (used by ios 222/223-mload)(by Hermes)
ÂÂ Load external ehcmodule if found in: sd:/usb-loader/ehcmodule.elf

* Updated Nature theme (by DonTlaloc)

OK folks, here's a Preview Release of Configurable USB Loader with Coverflow:

http://sharebee.com/37dd3a51

This is based on v34beta, so the bleeding edge changes (see above) aren't in this yet.

This is using the newer (and faster) libfat, so let us know if you have any issues.

**Note that I don't have the full cover cache enabled so it will only display the front cover at this time

...and yes, this is an OggZee-approved release

Changes:
Code:
Added coverflow mode.ÂÂTo access, press the B button a couple timesÂÂ:)

DPad Right/Left moves right and left
DPad Up flips the cover to the backÂÂ
DPad Down changes between coverflow styles

All the other buttons do what they normally do.

All cover positions will be configurable in the future, as well as full cover images, etc.

Changes since 33 release:

VERY nice! I'll run it for a few days and let you know if I run into any snags. So far it looks fantastic! It will be extremely nice to see back covers in the future!

EDIT: Oh well, that was short lived. I tried to run my first game (Warioware: Smooth Moves) and it crashed with DSI Exception and a really crazy half green corrupted screen.

rev13a got spindown fixes?

NO. But Hermes' IOS222 and 223 mload do it. I have tested.

rev 13 DOES have spindown fixes (as do 12 and 13b). In fact, it fixed a problem with my drive that Hermes' IOSes didn't (Hermes' IOS did make it less frequent than with rev 10, but rev 12/13 fixed it completely).

Oh, and upstactical... are there any free mirrors for the back/full covers yet?

Are really sure? Everywhere I read says that rev13a or rev13b doesn't have hdd spindown fixes.
Can u direct me to a play that claims rev13 have hdd spindown fixes?
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I remember some sites mentioning the spindown fixes that were in rev 12, take a look for those. I can't be bothered to go searching myself.

I can safely say that I was having issues on my drive (Verbatim 1TB external with 250GB WBFS partition) with some games (especially Hudson ones) stopping music playback for a few seconds (the drive would make audible clicks when this happened as well) while using rev 10. Hermes' IOS223 made the occurrence much less frequent (once an hour instead of once every 10 minutes), but rev 12 made it go away completely (and it didn't come back in 13).

I dont see why we need the external ehcmodule function...
Teentin, can you enlighten me?

I suspect the latest ehcmodule is not stable as I had 2 freezes in an hour play of Mario Kart. When I use an older one, everything is perfect.

By reset the console, do you mean you got to push the reset button on the front of the wii with rev 13? What happens if you don't? Can you play another game by selecting the wii menu and starting the loader again? Not sure I want to do that if that is the only way to switch games.

If you use "Wii Menu" on the Home screen to return from a game, the next game you try to run will hang. You can just hit the Home button and choose Reset on most games to avoid the hang. If that doesn't work (it may just restart the game on some), you can use the power button on the Wii Remote to power sequence the Wii off and on.

QUOTE(TeenTin @ Jul 1 2009, 04:14 PM) You problem is NOT a spindown problem.
I guess it might not be (I did just assume it was that because the drive actually made audible clicks just before the music would stop or start and would crash if I finished a level or did anything else that required immediate data while the music was stopped). In any case, it is some sort of drive related problem based on infrequent use of the drive that was fixed by rev 12.

@oggzee

Is it possible to modify your dol so that it can be used by Yaulct or Loadstructor to make game channels ? Especially, with the options to run game with IOS223 Hermes and Ocarina on.

Thanks a LOT !

I'm having problems. I decided to partion a HDD to FAT32 so I could store & load covers from it. Here's my steps:

1. Created a second partion, made it FAT32 and used Gparted to set the boot flag.
2. Placed apps folder & usbloader folder on the root of the FAT32 HDD partion
3. Removed the config.txt file from both locations on the SD card as instructed in the readme
4. Made sure my config.txt on the HDD was set correctly

Now, when I boot the Configurable loader from my channel, it just loads a "blank" template version as if it's not seeing the settings, templates, or anything that's on the HDD. When I try to d/l covers, it says it cannot create the paths for the SD file creation. What am I doing wrong??

That is a full channel right? Which version?
(you can see the version in global options or device options, depending on the version)
Does it work if started from HBC? How about if started from a forwarder?
Do you have the usb:/usb-loader/config.txt or usb:/apps/usbloader/config.txt?
With the version 34 you can also try starting it from PC with: wiiload boot.dol usb:
