Concerning GBA VC injector

I recently downloaded PKSM on my 3DS as a means to store my pokemon from my game cartridges. I also have pkmn-chest, where my pokemon from my fire red save (the emulator I used is mGBA) are stored. I noticed that PKSM has GBA compatibility, but only through VC. Is it possible to transfer the .gba file from mGBA into the GBA VC injector and preserve the save file associated with it? Thanks!

you can inject saves, yes, but it's not a part of the vc injection of the game.
