Computer Security FAQ
First a story, (because I was asked too) this is the story of how I got into Ethical hacking. I got into computers at the age of 8 when Game Boys were the crap. Then I got myself a nice flashcard and got them ROMS. It hit me, Exploitation of another persons work. It just kept on getting worse. I got into Linux stuff and had my fair share of distros. I then wanted to learn more. So I then moved onto jailbreaking and stayed in there for a while. By now I had fiddled with peoples systems and even got my moms administrator pass for her computer. I was bored of Jailbreaking after my iPad Mini 1st gen broke. I decided to get into 3ds homebrew as that was the stuff on this forum (And still is) Then I bricked my 2ds (RIP)
Now I was bored. Like really bored and decided to get into Ethical Hacking (Sorry how long this story is.) I was already mingling with the subject but never devoted to much to it. But now being bored I looked into it. I was hooked. To the point of even sitting for hours just reading about SQL Injection and .doc botnet injection. I took as much info I could keep my mind on. I then started to write about it and kept notes. Now I'm here writing this FAQ on "Computer Security"
[Q] What Is Computer Security?
---- {A} Computer Security, also known as cybersecurity or IT security, is the act of protecting ones hardware, software, and info inside of them. Being part of a community like that (White Hat Hackers) would make you ethical which entitles you to not break the law. [SOURCE]
[Q] Why Would I Get Into This, nerd?
---- {A} It's up to you. Computer Security is a very interesting field and can give you a high paying job. Not only that you can be popular with the lads All jokes aside the field is fruitful in both knowledge and culture. The community of ethical (and un-ethical for you rebels) are super nice and willing to teach the newcomers!
[Q] Money, What Now?
---- {A} First, you need to be patient and be open minded. Second, go and join hackthissite and do all the missions. This teaches you web security and MUCH MUCH more! Then, I would join Evilzone. There board is full of knowledge (Also while you're there say that '7i2' sent you) Third, I would then take some courses (This can teach you A LOT of helpful stuff) here is a nice one: link
[Q] I did all that now what?
---- {A} Read up on as many books as possible! Go and google as much as possible and join as many community's as possible! Here are some:
[Q] Is all this legal?
---- {A} If you're safe and don't hack anything you do not own it's all legal!
[Q] Should I call the cops on a hacker?
---- {A} No.
[Q] Is DDoS'ing hacking?
---- {A} It does tamper with a computer. So I guess it is somewhat hacking. But you won't be impressing anyone.
[Q] Is there any places I can go (In the real world) to learn more?
---- {A} Yes! You can go to a local hackerspace or a convention! Here is a list of conventions you can go to: link
[Q] Any other useful info?
---- {A} Yah! Here is a list with A LOT of helpful links!

KickAss! (Not Giving Link)
Hell (This one was taken down but brought to life again. But this one I would stay clear of. It might be a FBI honey-pot)
And just googling may bring up more
