Okeeeeeeey.

So like, I lost my Micro SD Reader stick thing,
so I thought: Instead of buying another one,
I should use the SD card adapter, since I do have
an SD card slot.

So I set it up and then inserted it into the slot,
but then computer did not detect it.

Yep. Help?

P.S.
I don't have a MicroSDHC card

I would guess your card is MicroSDHC, while the card reader isn't SDHC compatible.

The card adaptors also have a write protect tab, make sure it''s in the off position. They are fairly temperamental and can take a few attempts for them to work.

mostly you`ll need to install drivers for a special SD card reader.

Even in windows 7

Can you give me a link from which I can install from?

First, it's not MircoSDHC.
And what is that write protect tab? Is that the lock thing?

Try cleaning the contacts on the SD card.

So your MicroSD is 2 GB or smaller? Any larger and it could be an SDHC problem.

Go into your device manager and check to see if anything is showing up from the card reader to the card itself.

That`s correct. That prevents from writing data to your SD card if ever switched down (by looking vertically straight your SD). If switch´s up then you can write.

Then, make sure you see device manager and look for missing devices which need driver installation. They appear as a exclammation mark.

Then click right mouse button, click properties.

Then Details tab, then look for HARDWARE ID Checkbox.

Paste all the codes you see there, it should look like this:

Riccoh SD Media Controller

CODE
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&SUBSYS_022F1028&REV_22
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&SUBSYS_022F1028
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&CC_080501
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0822&CC_0805

This way, you can always and accurately find all types of drivers without the need of opening up a computer or wasting too much time.

; )

Code:
PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803B&SUBSYS_FF101179&REV_00
PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803B&SUBSYS_FF101179
PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803B&CC_018000
PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803B&CC_0180

...so, what do I do next...?

Same problem- I have an Advent all-in-one adaptor from PC World that is dead. No computer detects it's presence, therefore it is uselss. Any help?

If the computer doesn't detect it, there's not much you can do.

I'd see if it's reported as being present in the computer BIOS, my PC will display 4 USB highspeed devices present as it boots.

You google them to find the drivers. It's really not difficult.

You have a Texas Instruments 5-in-1 card reader. Try the drivers on Acer's site http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3680.html if they don't work, do a manual install and point Windows to the inf file in the ttinst folder.

Wait, what?
What do I install? There's like a list of stuff from which to install...
Wait.. do I install the "Card Reader TI Driver 2.0.0.6q"?

Never mind case solved!

I was supposed to install that

Thanks for you help guys! Especially tk_saturn!
