Hacking Complete shutdown

My wii seems to get Hot just around the SD slot area when i turn the wii off and the light is Orange. When i hold the button down to turn the light red every thing stays cool. is there a way to set the wii to shutdown completely or do i need to hold the power button down everytime?

With orange light the wii stays connected to the internet and eats the same 20W as it does while playing. Turn the check for updates off.

This way it needs 20 times more power than real standby. Yes i tested it with an electr. ammeter(hope this is the correct term). While playing or in orange standy the wii needs ~20W and in real standby ~1W.

I read the Wiki on the Wii that It only takes 2 Watts while in standby. 20 Watts while running.

With orange standby light the wii becomes hot. The reason for this is, it is eating 20 Watts. Measure it yourself if you don't believe me. During measuring, i couldn't notice a difference in power consumption between orange standy and playing.

Wikipedia speaks of 18, 9.6 and 1.3, but i myself got 20, 20, 1.

Custom fan uses the power thats connected to the DVD drive I believe and not the fan's power port so it will always be on while in standby mode.

It says this:

"Do not plug the Wiisper fan into the OEM fan plug. Use only the supplied cable.'

Or far easier: Just shut change the damn setting of Wii 24 connect so that it only connects when the Wii is really on. It will save your wii and your electricity bill. (Seems like electricity is far to cheap in the USA o.O )
