Hi everyone, I got a 3ds about a year ago with all the firmware etc already set up on it as I havn't a clue about it . I love it and haven't had any problems until I tried to play samosa returns last night. I have been declining the update every time it comes up and presumed that wouldn't be good and am on 11.1.
Apparently samosa needs a later update to work as its getting stuck on the 3ds logo when starting up.
I've read that I can update with luma and a9lh but I've no idea what they are!
Fbi is installed on it I know that and that has something about Luma in it.
Any help in absolute idiot step language at all would be really appreciated! To be honest it owes me nothing so if I can't get samus to work thats ok.
Ive attached a couple of photos of the menu I have in fbi, thanks so much!

That's a million times too complicated for me unfortunately :) Will have to make do without Samus
How is that hard? You literally just have to put some files in your SD card, run some programs and BOOM! B9S installed, and then you would be able to run that game without any problems

Just give it a try, you have a full community here to help you out :v

It's not complicated to you. I teach guitar for a living and its like me saying how do you find that hard to them.
I don't feel confident following that and don't want to wreck my system.
I can play every other game other than metroid.
I was hoping it was just a case of pressing update somewhere.
Its all good man, out of my league with that,

Thanks a million for the help.

But that’s all u are doing is pressing update. U just have to place a few files in certain spots and then hit a run button. The guide is made so a 10 year kid could follow it easily. It’s a matter of following steps that are written as if it was ur first time using it. And it won’t mess ur system up if you can’t handle completing it

If you could handle holding select on startup to see what luma ur running then u could handle holding start button then selection option to run a script. Everything is labeled so a dummy could do it

For each of steps for the things u need there are links all right on that one guide

Be aware that any issues that you run into with this ancient (1.5 years old!) version of Luma3DS will not be resolved and you won't get any help with them unless you first upgrade to the latest Luma3DS version.

Can you tell me which exact section/step doesn't make sense? I can help you and explain if something doesn't make sense.
