"Majesco has announced it's bringing the extremely successful casual fish breeding game Fish Tycoon to Nintendo DS, complete with all-new aquatic creatures, touchscreen features and 3D environments to keep your wet pets in.
Originally created by Last Day of Work and released on PC, Fish Tycoon sees you caring for and raising more than 750 different types of fish. These can then be sold from your in-game store to raise cash for more exotic tanks, food, medicine and ornaments, like those little castles or miniature scuba divers.
There's also some strategy required in order to successfully flog fish: As your store expands, you can pay to research better environments, set prices for your best breeds, cough up for advertising and even unlock genetic codes so you can discover the DNA of the 'Seven Magic Fish'.
"Fish Tycoon is one of those exceptional games with a unique premise that captures and holds your attention," said John Merchant, marketing manager, Majesco Europe. "We believe that the game's exclusive DS features and extensive touchscreen use will ensure the handheld iteration builds upon the PC version's success."
Currently under development at Aquaria Interactive, Majesco's new internal development studio, Fish Tycoon's date is still to be confirmed."
Could be an interesting addition in the 'ole DS pet/animal/thing genre, the PC version was fairly decent and enjoyable.
