Hi all, I am a fan of comics, manga etc. and recently discovered Comic Book DS, which is an amazing application, but it lacks support for custom background music playback. I couldn't find any source code and I thought before emailing the author of CBDS better asking here whether or not someone has the source code of the latest version (3.0) and/or knows a similar application that can display cbds comics AND supports music playback.

Thanks.

Well if RAM is an issue you can always add support for an RAM expansion pack if you have the source code. If you only have a DSi and a way to launch DSi enhanced homebrew, a DSi version is possible.

DSTWO is not neccessary. I mean using the extra RAM from an EZ Flash Expansion pack like other homebrews already do for years.

Just want to give a short update. I emailed the author a week ago or so but still no reply. I guess Comic Book DS music support will never happen

-MP3 Playback (check readme.txt for more info)

Mp3's must be placed in ../UAPaint/music/ (can change folders in options) and must be 128 kb/s @44100 in mono or less, for stereo, 64kb/s @22050 might work. You can always experiment to find the best quality you can get working

I stand corrected. But from this app, I assume the bulk of the RAM goes to the MP3 playback.

Even so, displaying a single jpg file at a time requires a lot of RAM, which makes it impossible for a mp3 file to be played in the background, right?
