Ok so im a pretty big collector of retro games and as i add more to my collection from the gameboy line i notice box differences. Such as the gameboy color games, some are shiny some are not? Fakes or just 2nd runs for the games?

Mainly im asking are there alot of fake gameboy box art running around because i know how to spot the fake games themselves but i never thought about boxes themselves.

Heres an example

Shiny

Non Shiny

The shiny box art was the original run of the game while the non shiny was the 2nd run. I remember seeing the shiny box art in stores a lot back in the day.

Ok so there is 2 different kinds of boxes then, that's a big relief because i have a few of the non holo boxes and was thinking maybe i got ripped.Still though as a collector the holo boxes do look much better....hmmmm
