Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will have dedicated servers for the PC version of the shooter.

Speaking with PC Gamer, he confirmed it will contain the feature in the game, unlike last year’s Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 2.

“I think dedicated servers are excellent. I don’t see any reason not to see them unless… well, I just don’t see any reason not to.

“It seems people like them and we’re excited about what we’re doing right now.”

He also expressed his support of dedicated servers in games.

“We do work very hard to reconcile the desire to manipulate and modify those dedicated servers with offering them the persistent experience and benefits that the console system provides,” he said.“We’re working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they’re all on first-party servers”

Call of Duty: Black Ops releases on November 9 for PS3, 360, PC and Wii.

Hell yeah!
The lack of dedicated servers is what made me hate MW2.

This game keeps looking better and better!

In my opinion: Treyarch > Infinity Ward.

Treyarch can fix glitches without more being exposed, and they can deal with hackers that use game-breaking mods like when someone kills them, the killer goes down levels and stuff like that.

Plus, they want to keep dedicated servers, and they're bringing back *insert zombie title* Zombies (I heard it was confirmed, but I'm not 100% sure). Plus, they don't make the weapons overpowered like in MW2 (Sure, the MP40 was a bit OP, but it was pretty much the only OP'd one).

EDIT: Let's hope the Zombies mode is for the Wii version too (If there even is a Zombies mode)!

Well they could just try to do what Bad Company 2 did and tie a key to an account and not release the server files stuff.

I believe they were making a Wii version of this and not WaW this time, unless you meant you hope that this will have zombies.
