I get what you're trying to say, but ripping my entire collection of PS1/2 games is simply not practical or cost-effective at this time. It would require a whole lot of extra expense and money I just don't have.

Conversely, if I could at least play my disc backups, I don't have to spend any further at this time and then employ the rip to internal/external/network/whatever when I do have money to do so. And maybe make enough back on selling the PS2 to remove some of the burden.

i got your point too. but it is very wise to backup your collection to a hdd sooner or later. even if you don't care about the damage to your ps3 laser/disc drive, your backup cds/dvds will meet read errors in due time anyway. ask this to my about 150 ps1 backup cdrs.
