Hacking Cobra ODE

Only way I can see them supporting all firmwares is by having a downgrader built in. Be interesting to see it in action in any case.

You know, does Cobra ODE have external LCD screen like 3k3y/x360key? Or is it more similar to Wasabi 360, where game selection is done on-screen?

Casue without external LCD screen, I can see it easily being blocked by a firmware update.

Only way I can see them supporting all firmwares is by having a downgrader built in. Be interesting to see it in action in any case.

if they had a method to downgrade consoles over 3.55 they would be selling that instead of of the ode or as a seperate product , most likely it will have a featre like the maximus lizard for 360 and be able to dump the br drive key and brd fw

whats the point ,if you have a ps3 with 3.55 then why get ax3key in the 1st place you can just use a cfw ,its stupid to waste an exploitable fw console like that ,x3key is or will be useless when cobra ode comes out cause you wont have to be on 3.55 ,better off getting a ps3 with fw over 3.55 and use cobra than to update a 3.55 ps3 to use the x3key ,its a waste

It was my understanding that you can;

Update the CFW to the lastest firmware.
Use the XK3Y on CFW.
Etc.

Not saying it's for my use. I'm saying in terms of comparing the two units, I might grab a CFW PS3 to try it out.

i understand but if you already have a cfw ps3 you dont need an ode ,i guess the only advantage is that after you use the cfw to dump the drive key you could update to latest ofw for psn but id much rather stay on cfw ,than update to ofw with an ode, besides im pretty sure that they are not banning that much from psn if your not using cheats, and there are unban methods now as well

so id say best to stay on cfw if you have it , and if your not on cfw then the cobra ode is the best choice since you dont need cfw to dump the drive key
and use it

Might be of limited use soon, I heard a rumor that there is a new exploit for the latest PS3 firmware. How true this is, I have no clue but if it is true it will be like 3.55 all over again.

Yeah no idea how well it work but they claim it works on all versions of OFW. Solderless install on older consoles, and 'fast & easy' on newer ones, so I assume that means it will require soldering for newer slims. Still, very interested in how this works as they seem to support all OFW and console models.

We should know more soon I hope.

Is it even being sold anywhere? So far it just looks/feels like a paper launch (read: only enough token units out there for reviews, but not purchase-able anywhere).

Few stores I've contacted haven't received stock, nor have they heard anything yet. I was told there'd be a video, and pictures up of the thing but so far nothing. I don't even think we've seen a picture of the unit.

I haven't seen any review of it, nor have I received a review copy.

so will it downgrade firmware ATM my only choice for CFW is either look for a used 3.55 OFW ps3 or pay someone to do it with one of the available options to downgrabe but if i recall they require sodering and i dont trust myself opening my ps3. or am i misunderstanding as to what it is

Sad thing is, I know someone that is basing their console purchase explicitly because of this device. So I'm just like "where the hell is it?"
