Hacking CIOSCORP Installer

preloader and starfall are patching the system menu. there is no effect on the ios side. to sum it up: it shouldn't matter if you install starfall/preloader before or after cioscorp.

correct me if i am wrong.

cIOS-Manager V0.1

cIOS-Manager V0.1 said:
This homebrew, produced by M @ nolo, can automate the installation package IOS for WII SOFTWARES CIOSPACK. There is therefore more likely to choose the wrong button during the installation of 21 files and delete a CIOS already installed (high risk of brick of the Wii).

We need to respect the requirements of the tutorial (except for FTPii, since you now have the ability to save your NAND directly on the DS).

The installation will summarize to decompress the archive in the apps folder of your SD and unzip the package patched IOS (CIOSPACK find with Google) to the root of your SD (CIOSPACK a record with 21 in fichiers.wad the interior had to be created automatically). We just have to start CIOS-MANAGER with the Homebrew Channel and let the software (it is strongly recommended to make a backup of your NAND with the option before starting the installation).

News:

- File Meta.XML
- New Name
- The IOS should be placed in the [CIOSPACK]
- Ability to make a backup of your NAND before installation

it seems to be a cioscorp-type-of-installer like the one wiipower is working on. maybe somebody wants to take a look at it.

2 questions:
1. Do you (IceaFireIceFire) mind making a hbc icon and an xml on front page? The reason why I ask you it's because your so creative and your work is wonderful.
2. Your guide mentions no preloader or starfall, why is that and methods should I use to deinstall it?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but uninstalling would only require you to put the ORIGINAL IOS files in the directory of the CIOS files (ofcourse, removing the CIOS files first), and then run the program.

absolutely correct.

This is just wad manager..... Wait until wiipower finishes his. There's a reason I took down my guide and bp200 took down his.

why wait? what does it matter if it is just wad manager? this installer, installing all the cios wads in rapid succession, works fine. a cioscorp installer shouldnt be "exclusive" to any one person. i dont mean to take anything away from or bash wiipower

His patches the existing cios, so less chance of bricking. This doesn't even state that it's only for 3.2. And he doesn't even mention that if you remove any of the cios's the console will brick.

This is actually not too bad a way of doing it... I haven't personally tried it... but I would make damn sure that none of your files are corrupted... or could result in ultimate brick. This doesn't need the network to install... also It is very wise to install ciosrev7 first before any of this... that is for people that will try this way...
In any installation of a WAD it is recommended to always make sure you are watching for correct files sizes... make sure you match the sizes from the original file you copied from your PC to the SD card..
I would also make cios30 the last one to install in the folder...

Good luck with this method.. I am not against it... but with all cIOS/IOS installation it can be very critical.

Just read and be safe gang!

Typical, I got flamed and so did bp2000. Suddenly this guy shows up, says it's an installer and bang! He doesn't even explain the risks!

on the first page it actually says "System Menu 3.2 ONLY!" come on, we all know the risks of patching the ios's. what topic were you reading?

patching ios IMO is more dangerous - many things can go wrong. Installing WADs has been tested before by many and is not dependant on system configuration.

keep starfall/preloader, this donesn't affect them.
