Well this topic said to have the usb loader you need to have cIOS36_rev10
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147085

i downloaded cios36 rev10 from a random site, and all there is, is a .dol file. In the readme.txt it said copy the .wad file etc. but there are no wad files... just one named cIOS36_rev10.dol

i downloaded it from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zdztqgmtnyn

so can anyone confirm that all i have to do is rename it boot.dol and run it from homebrew channel?
and is there any chance of bricking my wii? I dont have anything other than homebrew channel installed.

or can someone lead me to the official download of cios36 rev10?

Thats right just rename it to boot.dol and make sure its in a folder like apps/cIOS36_rev10 and then just run this from homebrew channel.
Select network install unless you have the correct IOS in the root directory of your SD CARD and then you can install it offline without network.
The IOS you need in the root of your SD card is called IOS34-64-v1042.wad if you want to do the offline install.

you mean IOS36-64-v1042.wad and not IOS34-64-v1042.wad. right? Just making sure.
