Okay, this is a step by step guide for the newbie so other people don't have to go through all the weird stuff.

THIS ACTUALLY WORKS, FINALLY! (YES IT DESERVES CAPS...

1. Import the (legal) rom on your micro SD card.
2. Download the "M3 DS Real Loader v4.1a X34" here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?dlcategory=70
3. Put the SYSTEM file on your Micro SD card.
4. Now, download "11_27_08_All.zip" here: http://cheats.gbatemp.net/
5. Decompress and open the file, take the "URSCheats.Dat" file and put it into the "SYSTEM" folder on you Micro SD card.
6. Now, this is important: Take the "Cheats.db" file and put it in your system folder, replace the old one.
6. Take off the Micro SD card, plug it in the DS
7. When you try to open the game, a menu will appear with cheating options.
8. Press "up" on the cross thing button and you will access the menu, put the cheat option on "always on".
9. Now press "right" and activate the "m3 real version" safety cheat code.
9. Start and enjoy life in reclusion for the next million hours.

Hope this helps, it took me a while to figure out.

EDIT: Oh nevermind, my bad, my cheat file was not up to date. Everything is good I think.

1. Place the (J) ROM on your card, not the (U) ROM.
2. Use the M3 Sakura firmware.
3. Download the latest cheat.db and put it in the SYSTEM folder.
4. Access the ROM config menu by sliding it to the left, then select the piracy bypass cheat (M3 Real/Sakura version).
5. Don't forget to turn on the Cheat Switch. Set it to "Always On"

This is guaranteed to work. The (J) version is identical to the (U) version in every way. The only difference is that you can't select Japanese language in the (U) version.

This hasn't worked for me, I've tried the universal cheat and the m3 specific, and nothing will work.
Will attempt sakura tomorrow. Does it support rtsaves?

the game supports rts, m3sakura doesn't, and with the latest m3real firmware chrono trigger should work without cheats.
but for m3sakura i recommend getting the patch version of the cheat.

I switched to isakureal on my M3, love it. Much easier to live with than the previous firmware I had.. scrolling through a long list of roms quickly is the main advantage for me.

HOWEVER I'm not sure what skins are available for them.. anyone able to help me out with some options to dress up those menus a bit?
