Hardware Choosing the best soldering iron

I have heard that buying the first soldering iron I can see is not the best option. I have to make a GBA Macro, and for that I have to solder on the motherboard of a DS Lite. What could be the minimum power required for not breaking the motherboard when soldering?

Just get a decently reviewed 30w precision tip soldering iron with 63/37 flux-core solder.
