Gaming Cheat.dat notworking

hello, Iv downloaded a file called cheat.dat from cheat.gbatemp.net and put it in my system folder.
after i turn on my nds, I'v noticed no cheats has been displayed.
i am using a 4gb chip and when i tried using cheat code editor, it either crashes or does not display anything. and when i opened the file using notepad,
all i see are a bunch of asian letters. BUT! when i downloaded 06_29_09_USRCHEAT.DAT.zip and used that. it worked to some extect. of course only some cheats were working. when i opened this one, i got weird symbols as well as some english letters. when i use the cheat code editor, I think it loaded so much that it crashed.

Which flashcart are you using? Is it Acekard 2 or R4 DS?

use r4cce from yasumenu to open the file not notepad

the cheat code editor? i used it, it crashes if the file is to long. Also the cheat.dat file from the cheat.gbatemp.net website doesnt seem to work for my NDS and when i look further in it its all in asian letters.
the one that didnt have asian letters seem to work so, is the cheat.dat file that this website have provided not work? the one that should work shouldnt have the codes full of asian letters atleast, not the one i used.

first of all delete all .dat which you have
then download the cheat.dat from cheats.gbatemp.net !

and i am talking about r4cce from YASU! not the cheat code editor you got from the official site or CD

how can you use a non related program to open it!

EDIT: who the hack so damn stupid told you... you can use notepad to open the .dat?
