ROM Hack Character name custom robo arena

how i can change the character name of the main character? i tried with an hex editor but the game said that the save was corrupted


EDIT: forgot it, i tried both american and european version

Save files usually have checksums to validate the integrity of the data, so you'd need to recalculate it with your changes. It would be much easier to edit the name in memory while the game is running, then save the changes.

so how i can do it? i have to use an emulator?
