Hi all, I started my first time switching out joycon shells as my right one was badly cracked. during the process, the ribbon cable of the right joycon (the one at the bottom) came out and the tab that holds it down has broken off and can't be found. Does any one have any ideas or solutions to this? because the cable was accidentally pulled out it could be broken but I'm not certain. I

If the Zif connector or the ribbon cable is damaged you going have to get replacement part or replacement joycon.

If you can see the contacts on the end of the ribbon cable hopefully it's not broken.

Are you sure the tab has come off? It flaps up and down - on the opposite side to the one for the other ribbon cable.

Yes the tab has come off. I'm thinking that I just need to replace the joycon entirely.

happen to me too , i forced that tab down and its comes out , i never managed to get it on place but ;
i managed to get the joycon to work by hot glue :
idk if it's by chance or not but it happen on two joycons and they work good for a year now with this.

edit : when glued, if you see the joycon led's you win , if not you can easely remove the glue and retry.
