Hacking Changing a titles icon.bin

The Nintendo Zone Viewer seems to be hidden on european 3DS systems. It is supposed to show up once you connect to a Nintendo Zone for the first time, but many SSIDs got blacklisted in system updates and on the current version no SSID seem to work.

I have read that the visibility is set in the icon.bin file, that is contained in the titles exefs. Is there a way to change the visibility (eg. by replacing the file) without dumping and reinstalling the cia? I know that you can use Lumas game patching feature to load romfs modifications but I haven't read anything regarding exefs. I've also read that the 3DS has an icon cache. Would it be sufficient to just change the corrosponding file in the cache?

How about downgrading, using the SSID and then update again? I'll try this later today. ^^

I think it got discontinued in 2018. I think it got patched at around that time

Second idea would be a dump of the app already activated. I'll try to figure something out in a few hours.

Here is the list of all Nintendo Zone SSIDs that are still recognized by the 3DS.

I did not test this myself but from the table naming the SSID NintendoSpotPass1 or NintendoSpotPass2 will probably still unlock the Nintendo Zone.
