I'm aware and using staybright, but unfortunately that completely disables the dimming, which given, i'm using an OLED vita, i'd prefer it still dims & turns off the screen, just not so quickly. https://forum.devchroma.nl/index.php/topic,102.0.html
I'm also using vitabright to dim the screen as well.

Are there any alternative plugins that do something like this? I don't like leaving on the screen for tools that are doing long file transfers, but it seems like that's my currently only choice if I don't want the default quick dimming behavior.

You can try using AutoBrightness or adjusting VitaBright settings to slow down the dimming without completely disabling it. AutoBrightness allows you to set more specific brightness adjustments based on ambient light. Additionally, look for custom dimming plugins on Vita modding forums that might give you control over dimming behavior without turning off the screen too quickly.
This sounds like a good idea, but I can't find an "auto brightness" or any auto dimming settings built in, nor on any of the forums I've search. If anyone has something they'd suggest specifically, it'd be much appreciated!
