Kosmos made a deal with Atmosphere to keep the sigpatches out, long story short basically. Once you install the sigpatches manually, just once. The Kosmos Updater will always download the sigpackages.

For what purpose, exactly? All this does is affirm my above point (devs pretending to not be pirates when they always were pirates). Why go to such lengths to be a hypocrite?

Going by the github issue I assume it was the retroarch folks that wanted it separated, not Atmosphere folks.
https://github.com/AtlasNX/Kosmos/issues/187

But the point still stands that the sigpatches can be obtained via the regular Kosmos updater.
A new package isn't necessary.

The devs made the choice to not include them due to their own personal reasons, but it's not like they actually went out of their way to ensure that sigpatches can never be added.

I'm a bit confused, is the sigpatches not that extra zip that you just download and copy to your SD card ontop of kosmos? or is it more than just this?

You are correct, this package is just Kosmos with that extra zip included.

Though I don't recommend using this one, as it looks like it's a package of v11.10.2 Kosmos, with the latest being v11.11.1.

Edit: The package has changed since the time this was posted and no longer seems outdated.

I don't know why anyone would even continue to use Kosmos at all anyway. The *only* reason anyone ever used it was because it came with sigpatches so you didn't have to do that extra step after installing Atmosphere. Now it's literally just Atmosphere bundled with a shitload of bloatware. It's absolutely irrelevant and its 'developers' are a bunch of idiots.

It's an all-in-one solution that can be updated without a computer.
Something like that is pretty handy for folks that aren't technically savvy or don't want to keep track of several projects for updates.

if pozmos is just kosmos with the sigpatches whats the point, the sigpatches are literally right next to each release

you have to be blind to not see that, and if you can see this text then you can see the sigpatches

I use pozmos, I’ve had no issues. I hope it continues to go down a different road, kosmos got turned into a bloated mess, and it’s only getting worse. atmosphere is also porking up. i hope reinx can stay lean.

I cant really give reasons that make sense except that they don't want to support game piracy to any extend, thus forcing us to seperate them. I gotta be honest though, it's too simple to get them back. There is always a second zip on the release page that is also just drag and drop and after that Kosmos Updater (that also has a key combo to download the es-patches when you dont have them) will automatically detect them and update them with each release.

I dont have anything against Pozmos and alternatives for the even lazier pirates are acceptable. Its like with Atmosphere, atmosphere is used by anyone and so there are distros that bring their own spin to it.

For anyone who is wondering, the app has gone through a huge overhaul, everything is downloaded from official sources directly when needed.
(Still too new for links)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Unfortunately many homebrew apps are shipped in .7z format and I have thus far been unable to find a library/module that can handle them. Pozmos is missing due to this issue, however I am going to try to convince the dev to ship them in zip format.
