ROM Hack Cave Story

I noticed that there's a lot of Cave Story mods for the pc version, so I was curious about mods and hacks for the 3DS version. I searched online but didn't get much. Is it possible?

That it is. But I'm still curious and would like to see what's out there as far as modding goes.

It'd be cool if NXEngine supported modding, but as far as I know it doesn't.
