Capcom uses their MT Framework engine to make games shine on the 360 and PS3. It looks like Capcom now has plans to bring that same engine over to the Wii, all in the name of saving development costs.

Today' Nikkei Industrial has a report that confirms plans to bring a 360/PS3 engine over to Wii, although MT Framework is not named specifically. It's almost 100% confirmed that the MT Framework engine is the one being discussed. Making this engine work on Wii will eventually save Capcom 1/5 of simultaneous development costs, and 1/3 from separate games. Thanks to René for the heads up!

Yay, I hope so! I played it on my PC and it wasn't too bad, but the 4Wii played so much better thanks to the Wiimote

Yeah, I agree. I'm going to buy a PS3 in may. If there's a Wii version announced by that time I'll wait for that, otherwhise I'll go for the Alternate Edition with Wand controls which should be similar to Wiimote + Nunchuk... Except I don't think holding a DualShock in one hand is going to be comfortable.

don't have an idea how things exactly work, but don't such engines depent on the systems/ graphic standarts they are made for? so wouldn't it be far impossible to adapt the mt framework to wii without changes/ losses in quality as the chips are less powerfull ? yes, would be nice to see a re4 on wii, but it's surely gonna' kinda alternative or special version of the engine:.

a new console won't do anything right now, because the games are still in development, that's why there are few games being released
