Gaming Can't Use Microsoft Account Balance?

Hi guys. I have an XBO and purchased a $25 Xbox Balance Card today. Wanted to buy Halo Reach, but I can't use my Microsoft Balance? Anyone else experience this and or know a fix? Help greatly appreciated

When you go to pay for it, does it not give you the option for your balance? Did you buy a prepaid card and did you put it toward YOUR account?

It says "Microsoft Balance cannot be used on this channel" or something like that. It was a prepaid $25 card for my hotmail/microsoft account. I am confused, even on the card it said can be used for games...
