Hacking Can't open _dsmenu.dat (R4 Dual-core 2017)

Hello. My brother recently gave me his R4 2017 Dual-Core card, but when I tried to use it, it came up with an error message saying,"Can't open _dsmenu.dat". I've tried downloading every possible kernel I could find but it came up with the message every time. I am quite new to this, so I apologize for any face-palming that may have occurred while reading this. Thank you!

wrong kernel.
there should be a website prited on either the cartridge's print or on the package or sticker.
i'll need a litterely letter by letter complete copy of that website.

should be http://www.r4isdhc.com.cn/download.asp it's still active the site, which of the pics come's closest if you disregard the year on it? that's the package you'll need to download both the update fw and the kernel.
update should be when extracted with 7zip a .NDS file, and kernel should be when extracted with 7zip multiple files and maps.
format the micro-sd card in fat16 or maybe fat32 will do fine.
copy the extracted contend to the root of this micro card using a cardreader.
if still not working, it might meen you'll have to find a friend with a DS or DSlite NOT A DSI or 3DS (this because you'll need to update the firmware and the only safe install would be by doing this on the non network version of DS).
start the DS with this card in it, now it will boot directly without the error.
start the fw update file now, probabbly this will take some time so make sure the DS is charged fully, or hanging on a charger.
when complete, restart the DS with the card.
now try the card in your own DS to see it's working.
