No, I kept it off. Why? Do I need it on? I keep my Wii completely off and not on standby.

Nothing, I thought you were one of those that implies WiiConnect24 bricks the Wii, it doesn't cuz I keep my Wii with it on all day.

If anything, some people reported that keeping it on standby with WiiConnect24 overheats the GPU.

It turns out that only happens on defective Wii's OR if you are dumb enough to cover the fan, I've kept it on for a year straight and never overheated on me.

I haven't used the WiiConnect24 ever since installing Priiloader because I didn't want forced-updates. So, now what I can transfer my stuff from console to console, all will be well. Had my Wii since 2007 and still works like a charm.

Priiloader blocks every last of update via online, means WiiConnect24 does NOT update your Wii because Priiloader doesn't let it, no way no how.

Did you installed the IOS and the Wii Shop wad already?
