I'm wondering about this. With Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2, there's a bunch of stuff that looks like pointers at the beginning of the .dat file...
However, modifying those bytes, only leads to the pictures in the intro not showing up and crashes. I'm pretty sure those aren't the pointers. Also, the pointers can't be after the text, because after the text there's nothing but blank space.
But I have no doubt that the game uses pointers. I know it does because when I tried to add space to the text, things got screwed up; which means the game uses pointers.
So is it possible for pointers to not be in the actual text file?
