Hacking Can I update games software when downloaded from Ciangel?

I am running CFW with Ntrboot/B9S/Luma and using Ciangel to download some games (for backup). After downloading a game and running it for the first time it asks me if I want to do a software update. Is it okay to do that or will it negatively affect my CFW or game download?

I'll go for 100% safe, because updates and games are not connected
You can download updates for whatever games you want, even if you don't own them.
(Not like Sony and Vita/PS4)
