Would there be some way of adding download titles to your 3DS's SD card without having to pay for them, or does the 3DS recognize your attempt to pirate software and block it?

There no such way yet. Only option of pirating is the Gateway card, but it doesn't work like that, and piracy is obviously immoral, illegal, and bad, so don't do it.

If there was, why would we need the Gateway? Nintendo aren't so stupid to let a thing like that get through.

Nintendo can transfer games to your SD card if you have bought them on a previous system that you've since lost or had stolen. No, I am not encouraging you to make up a story and try to get free games.

Damn, no Ambassador games for me, I guess. I didn't get a 3DS until this year and Nintendo doesn't seem willing to let regular owners buy the Ambassador games.

Thanks anyways.

Wait, you can't just buy the Ambassador games? So that means I'm special?

Nintendo has released a handful to the Virtual Console, but none of the GBA titles are available yet and maybe never will be. So I guess you are special.

If there was a way, don't you think that sometime during the two years the 3DS has been available, someone would've thought of that and tried it?
