Yo dudes

Titles tells a lot, but I'll explain it.

Is it a good choice to buy a (2nd hand) ipod touch 2G 16 GB now?
Or do I have to look for a 3G one?
Does the 2G support all the apps released thus far? / most recent (i)OS on 2G?
Are there some differences between the 2G/3G worth mentioning?

First of all, 16gb 3G models don't exist.
3G models come in 8, 32 and 64gb. 8gb 3G are have the same hardware as all of the 2G's, except for the bootrom (making it less hackable). 32 and 64gb 3G models are faster (twice the ram).
2G are starting to slowly fade out, some graphic intense games won't support them. Even some of iOS 4's features don't work on them (multitasking, background pictures, etc.)
Also, 2nd hand iPod tend to have some sort of problem, and you can bet that the guy who is selling it is going to use the money to buy a 4G iPod Touch.
So since the 2G models are becoming unsupported, you might as well get a real 3G (32 or 64gb). Or even better, save up some money and get a 4G. It currently the strongest iPod, supporting all games and features (regardless of capacity).
