Gaming Button Only and Stylus Only games?

well for me games that don't use the touch feature for the main game play qualify for me at least as a buttons only game, Castlevania OOE, SM64, yoshi's island DS etc.

Aren't the Pokemon series capable of being played ''No Stylus''?
Pressing Y gets you to the menu on the touch screen, and on Platinum there is only a PokeWatch on the touchscreen.

Those games has also couple button controls for quick menu/pause.

Button only games usually have same touch screen and button control. e.g you can play Phoenix Wright games without stylus but same controls are on touch screen. Tetris Party Deluxe maybe only ones without any stylus controls.

Almost entirely, yes. there are certain mini games that require a stylus (like poffin making, in...urm.....was that in diamond/pearl?)
But for the most part they can be played with buttons only.

Most of my favorite games are buttons-only capable, (like FF Tactics Advance 2, Disgaea DS, Rune Factory (all) Rocket Slime)
though many of them have the option to use the stylus

Some good stylus-only games: Touch the Dead / Dead and Furious and the previously mentioned Rhythm Heaven

(sort of like Starfox Command)

Yeah forgot you had to use the buttons to sidescroll.So it's a mix of both, but imo it's more about the use of stylus for the gameplay.
