Button 2 not working on Wiiremote (plus inside)

Hi,

as the tittle says. The button does not work. I tried opening the device to clean the contact and rubber pad, but it does not work and there's nothing visibly broken inside.
Not sure what happened, it did not receive any hits or drops.
Has anyone experience something similar?
