If I compress .ISO games, they turn into a .gcm file. These are playable in Dolphin, but will they work on an actual Xeno chipped GameCube if I burn them on discs?

As long as it's a good rip I don't see why not.

Note the standard Xeno can only load discs. If you want to play ISOs stored elsewhere, a boot disc is needed.
Yeah, I'm planning on burning the games on mini-discs and use them normally, the same way you would with a legit copy of the game. So will it 100% work, even with the .gcm extension? No need to change it to .ISO?

Be carefull, the ganecube drive checks the last sectors in the disc... If it reads data, the loading process will continue otherwise it will stop. So... The trimmed game must be of certain size at minim (cant remember how much i think it was over 850-800mb) I woul untrimm the isos and then burn.

Extensions are mostly for convenience. They don't tell you about the file's content or structure.

I'm not too familiar with a minimum size limit, but multi-game discs are an option for small games.
Of course I wouldn't suggest mixing games of different regions. That's too disorganized.
