Thanks granville,
haha yes I know I use this link for updates as well. I can see he updates them really quick!

Well Thanks for the guide. I was indeed stuck at the nunchuck option (I had already connected the wiimote) .. and the game is working now

However, as stupid as this may sound, umm.. how can I use the wiimote? for pointing I mean? I'm guessing I need an IR sort of adapter but I'm not really sure what I want here lol

oh and for the system menu, I originally tried the 2.0 release, I couldnt see an option, but with r6094 (the one I'm using right now) there is an option called install wii menu. So it might be as simple as that ..

(btw, I'm on 20+ revs before the latest one, and my menu looks nothing like the ones you have posted!)

Well the menus i used are from an older rev, like maybe behind a few days. But i'm using windows classic theme right now, so that might be it.

As for the Wiimote, you need a Bluetooth dongle like this one-

Cheap as hell, very much recommended as playing via Wiimote is ideal. I don't have a real Wiimote myself, but i can give you a guide to get you hooked up with one-
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Con...-PC-via-Blueto/

And when you get it working after following the guide, it should be as simple as configuring the movements of any other keyboard or gamepad. I've been using the mouse for the IR pointer though since that works best for me. If you are just using a keyboard and mouse though, and don't even have a wiimote, you don't need any sort of adapter. You NEED the bluetooth dongle to use a real wiimote though. If you're already using a Wiimote, i'm not sure what to tell you about configuring the Wiimote. I thought it would be as simple as hitting the detect button and swinging it. I had thought it would automatically pick up the movement...

oh I already connected the wiimote via bluetooth. I have (4?) wiimotes and two wiis, and obviously have a USB dongle. Its the pointing part that I'm having trouble with. So you're saying mouse IR works? Mind elaborating?

Edit: bah I might have misunderstood you. Since you dont have a wiimote, then it probably means you dont have a wii. The wii has an IR device connected to the back set above or below the TV that detects the pointer. The wii also connects to the wiimote via bluetooth.
Now since we the PC has bluetooth, naturally connecting went smoothly. But since it doesnt have IR, how can I point

Where am at right now, is where you start mario galaxy, it tells you to pick an icon, for that you should point at it, but you cant since there is nothing to point to!

Yeah, i think you do need an IR device. Sorry. I'm not sure how any of that will work. You can use the mouse of course as well, which i guess you could pair up with the nunchuck...

I'm using a combination of my Logitech Dual Action gamepad and the mouse. I use one side of the Logitech, and use a single analog with the shoulder buttons for Z and C (i think it was C). Then i use the mouse plus the buttons for the wiimote. Left and right clicks for A and B, Wheel for the various shake motions. Works quite well once you get used to it. The joy of Dolphin is that i can set up multiple control profiles for different games, so that works great. Obviously, NES style controlled games are the easiest to figure out.

heh, yeah I have a a Logitech Dual action gamepad as well as a logitech G9x mouse..
lol that setup actually looks cool I'll try it tomorrow (5 am here) but a bit inconvenient holding a gamepad half hanging for the two shoulder buttons lol

I should probably stick games to these NES style controlled games (Fire emblem anyone?)

Thanks again granville. Sorry for ruining your thread!
Um, if you could talk to a mod or something to remove the post or seperate them to a thread. It would be better for your sake

No problem. I'm just glad to hear that i can indeed run Mario Galaxy on this new build i'm getting! Those are probably the key Wii games i am interested in getting to run well (and then Epic Mickey and DKC Returns this fall). I will just stick to a gamepad and mouse, it has served me well enough. All i can think of having issues with is Motion Plus stuff, which i'm not sure how that works without the real thing...

Ok this is the last i'll say about the sensor bar thing, but apparently all you need is two small light sources set apart (same distance as the lights on the sensor bar) and you can use them as a replacement for the sensor bar. I'll let you figure this out, but no need to buy a sensor bar. You can even do this with CANDLES apparently!

My PC is overclocked to a mere 3.2GHz (well, so far.. untill I see the need to overclock to 4GHz I'm not going to do so) and up to the icon selecting screen the fps was 60. However the fps drop when shifting scenes (example: The change between the warning screen at the beginning and the opening video) .. but thats just for a second really, no biggie!

Oh yeah I dont know how the motion plus will work, even though there IS an option for it emulated.
In any case if things come to worse, you can always buy a wiimote, nunchuck, and wii motion plus. It'll be around $50 I guess, not a bad price to pay for having a wii on your PC

Thanks for the IR video. I knew there were some easy solutions, but never knew candles worked!!
I think I'll stay away from candles though, I dont want anything like that near my PC!

Thanks again granville

Edit: I just remembered that I can always get a wireless sensor bar which will work great. I think they're cheap too ($5-$10)
